Tile Fair LeafletOctober 1st, 2011 - Antique Tile Fair in Nottingham (Open to non-TACS Members) BRING BUY SELL OR SWAP The fair will be held at St. Jude's Church Hall, Mapperley, Nottingham NG3 5HE. The annual tile sale will again be held under the direction of Mike Blood. Because of the 30th anniversary of the Society, there are plans for a special TACS table with tiles for sale donated by stall holders and a tile conservation table by Leslie Durban. Mike Blood has offered us supper at his home afterwards.  Members will be notified about the details in a special flyer. St Jude's is one mile north from the city centre on the B684 Woodborough Road off the A60 or from the A60 Sherwood up Mapperly Hall Drive past mini roundabout to T Junction - turn left to St. Jude's 50 yards on left.

March 5th – Visit to the William Morris Gallery in Walthamstow.
We have arranged to have a guided tour of the William Morris Gallery before it closes for extensive building work in April.

April 9th - Coade stone and Doulton walk along Thames Embankment and V&A visit
A morning walk from the former Hospital for Women and Children on Waterloo Road to the former Doulton Offices on the High Street in Lambeth taking in Coade stone sites along the way. An afternoon visit to the newly opened Ceramics Galleries in the V&A.

May 7th - Tile making day at Reptile Tiles in Llanglydwen, Whitland, Carmarthen (CANCELLED)
A day of making tin-glazed tiles under the direction of Carlo Briscoe and Ed Dunn. The tiles made will be posted on to participants afterwards. The cost of the day includes lunch.

June 4th Visit to a private Burmantofts collection, West Yorkshire
This is one of the most comprehensive collections of Burmantofts tile and pottery in Britain, and well worth a visit for those interested on Art Pottery as well as tiles.

June 11th Alan Boyson in Manchester.
This is a bus tour visiting sites of the works of Alan Boyson, the well known contemporary ceramic artist. It is being arranged by the 20th Century Society and other groups.

July 1st Visit to Shaws of Darwen, Lancashire
This is a conducted tour of one of the leading manufacturers of contemporary architectural ceramics. The firm is also very active in conservation and restoration work throughout Britain.

Our 30th AGM will be a festive occasion and will take place in Blackpool. Details will be sent nearer the time.
